It's funny thing to talk about toilette but it's also a part of the house and let's be honest we use it more than some kitchen furniture or other things in flat. Toilette doesn't have to be only functional. So few words about this:
- If it's possible hide the water tank behind the wall so that doesn't break the space but ensure the access to it and to other things behind (like water meter) for case of maintenance.
- A hanging toilette (like one on the picture) is more practical than a standing one, it's easier to wipe the floor.
- During the night when we might bare feet it's not nice to keep our feet on the cold ceramic (unless if use waterproof wood) so it's nice if we use some nice, soft carpet
- It's important to consider that during the night we don't need 500lx in toilette. Our eyes are accommodated to night vision, so we need less illumination during the night so we can use only guide light in form of a cove light. Independently from the electrical lighting we can use candles too what creates atmosphere and also helps to eliminate the smells. We should think about this in design phase otherwise there wont be much horizontal place.
- Also consider in design phase the place of toilette paper and wet wipes because the after solutions not always the best (eg. you drill the ceramic and its break).
- Make sure that you use automatic ventilation and maybe perfume 'distributor' and make sure that the ventilation is enough strong but almost invisible and silent
- The doors and locks. Quite often people forget about this part when they purchase the doors, although this is an internal door this must be lockable from one side. Unfortunately after the door they have to mount on it some shutter, but that is not a neat solution. This lock should be integrated into the door.
- Size and position is one the most important thing. I saw several toilette just wasn't big enough what is not practical :). The positions is also important, if it's close to the side wall you cannot sit comfortably and if the toilette is in low position than you wanna sit and you think you reached the level and you drop yourself and fall 20 cm in free fall and you feel like you are in a kindergarten.
